Career Development Bootcamp Meeting 2

Unimeet Gothenburg welcomes international students and PhD students at Chalmers and University of Gothenburg to join this Career Development Bootcamp. The program is designed to provide a practical and hands-on approach to help you learn how Swedish work life really works, what employers look for, how to write strong CVs and cover letters, network with confidence, and build a professional brand that stands out. The Bootcamp also helps you to create an actionable plan to move closer to your career goals and understand the Swedish job market.

This program includes three workshops on February 24th, March 26th, and April 14th, all held from 15:00 to 18:00. Each workshop is complemented by a digital coaching meeting. Additionally, you will receive a practical handbook in which you can further work with future career goals and actions. The program is free, but it requires your active participation and commitment.

PROGRAM CERTIFICATE
Participants who attend all three workshops will receive a Program Certificate to recognize their dedication and effort.

Applications are sent out through your university.

Meeting 2:

Make Your Application Count – CV & Cover Letter Edition
Want to understand what Swedish employers are really looking for in a CV and cover letter?

This event gives international students practical tips and tricks for creating strong, competitive application documents for the Swedish job market. You’ll learn how to highlight your unique strengths, skills, and experiences in both your CV and personal letter. We combine hands-on guidance with a short interactive activity to help you reflect on your profile and take the next step.

Understanding Networking in the Swedish Job Market
Networking plays a key role in accessing the Swedish job market, as many opportunities are found through personal connections. In this workshop, we will explore how networking works in a Swedish context, both in writing and in face-to-face situations. We will discuss common norms, expectations, and practical strategies, and briefly practice applying them. We will also talk about where networking typically takes place in Sweden and how to recognize relevant settings. The focus is on building confidence and clarity in how you approach others and navigate appropriate networking arenas in Sweden.

Both seminars are held by Isabelle Joneken and Matilda Svensson, Career Guidance Counselors at International House.

You will gain insight into how the right mentor and a strong network can provide guidance, confidence, and direction in a new country.
Presented by the Gothenburg based non profit organization Öppet Hus, this session focuses on turning connections into opportunities and support into progress. Your future begins with a connection.
